In 2017, Florida Today ran an op-ed stating it was “time to allow death with dignity in the Sunshine State.”

In 2015, on the heels of California’s new law, the Sun Sentinel Editorial Board published an editorial in support of Death with Dignity. The editorial recalled a case 30 years prior of a man from Broward who helped to end his wife’s life and served time in prison. Noting no change in the laws had been contemplated since that time, the editorial ended stating physician aid-in-dying is “a complex, emotional issue, but it is time to have the conversation in Florida.”
