Weeks 38 & 39/2016 in the Death with Dignity Movement

In the two weeks from September 19 to October 2, 2016:

• The Washington, DC, Death with Dignity bill was scheduled for markup in the Council Committee on Health and Human Services. The vote will take place on October 5.
• The Yes on Colorado End of Life Options Act campaign released its first video ad.
• Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper explicitly stated his support for the assisted dying measure.
• Following an interview with our executive director Peg Sandeen, The Washington Post Editorial Board again endorsed the Death with Dignity bill pending in the Council.
