- In Arizona, fallout continued from the city of Tuscon approval of Death with Dignity.
- California’s medical community continued to debate the new End of Life Option Act.
- The Utah Rep. Chavez-Houck continued her media rounds preparing ground for the re-introduction of a Death with Dignity bill.
- John Jay Hooker, a Death with Dignity advocate, was named the Tennessean of the Year.
