Week 2/2016 in the Death with Dignity Movement

In the week from January 11 to January 18, 2016 (including MLK, Jr. Day):

• A big debate event took place in Alaska about the proposed Death with Dignity bill.
• Advocates in New York lobbied state legislators to pass one of the pending bills.
• In New Jersey, the Death with Dignity bill passed in the Assembly in November 2013, did not come up for a vote in the Senate. S 382 is thus effectively dead.
• Maryland prepared for the re-introduction of a Death with Dignity bill.
• The Colorado bill, defeated in Committee last year, was reintroduced.
