Afterword: Physician-Assisted Dying Concepts

From Maine to Hawaii, Death with Dignity National Center Promotes Options for Physician-Hastened Death

The Death with Dignity National Center (“National Center”) works with groups all over the United States to promote the adoption of Death with Dignity laws. For example, in Maine, the National Center is partnering with the local group It’s My Death to bring another physician-hastened death bill before the legislature in 2017 after a recent close loss in 2015. On the other side of the country, the National Center leadership team is partnering with local advocates Hawaii Death with Dignity Society to jump-start new efforts after recent bills died in committee.
